This high quality handmade tea set from the regency period, circa 1815, was made at John and William Yates pottery in Hanley, Staffordshire, England. Patten number 1120 in red to all pieces. For similar examples see A Compendium of British Cups by Michael Berthoud – Pages 129 and 131. Now highly collectable this tea set is typical of the era with a Royal Fluted shape and Old English handles. Made of early white porcelain, each piece has been hand painted with panels of floral sprays on a Salmon pink ground and lavishly gilded. Trio ……..
