Yates Georgian Royal Flute Bowl

This high quality handmade tableware from the regency period, circa 1815, was made at John and William Yates pottery in Hanley, Staffordshire, England. Patten number 1120 in orange to all pieces. For similar examples see A Compendium of British Cups by Michael Berthoud – Pages 129 and 131 plates 773, 774 and 781. Now highly collectable this tea set is typical of the era with a Royal Fluted shape and Old English handles. Made of early white porcelain, each piece has been hand painted with panels of floral sprays on a Salmon pink ground and lavishly gilded. Bowl – 8.5 cm x 18 cm diameter. Good condition with no damage just a nibble under rim and a tiny bit of gilding rub – 200 years old.
