Shelley Blue Iris Medium Platter
$ 94.73
A rare set of bone china made in the Queen Anne shape and hand painted with the blue Iris pattern. It was the most iconic of the floral patterns produced by Shelley in the 1920s for the Queen Anne shape. Lovely hand enamelled blue irises, some open and some as buds on each panel, together with dainty sprays in orange and yellow, the rim lined with blue enamel. Marked with the green Shelley England factory stamp to base. Pattern # 11561. This incredibly rare and medium sized platter was made circa 1930 and measures 31.5 cm x 26 cm. It is in lovely condition, the white glaze and enamel paints are bright, and there is no crazing.
