Shelley Blue Iris Meat Platter

$ 94.73

A rare set of bone china made in the Queen Anne shape and hand painted with the blue Iris pattern. It was the most iconic of the floral patterns produced by Shelley in the 1920s for the Queen Anne shape. Lovely hand enamelled blue irises, some open and some as buds on each panel, together with dainty sprays in orange and yellow, the rim lined with blue enamel. Marked with the green Shelley England factory stamp to base. Pattern # 11561. This incredibly rare and large meat platter was made circa 1930, it will take a good sized roast measuring 44 cm x 36 cm. It is in lovely condition, the white glaze and enamel paints are bright, and there is no crazing.
