Minton Cockatrice Square Handled Plate

Wonderful English Fine china from the Minton Factory, Stoke on Trent since 1793. Minton is regarded as the best of the English china factories and as such is very sought after by collectors. Cockatrice pattern # 4863, were first made in the late 1800s. The china is decorated by hand with enamel paints depicting an exotic bird & floral decoration in greens, pinks, reds, blues & browns on a white background. Square Serving Plate – 26 cm handle to handle. Minton hallmark on the underside is the early stamp circa 1850s. Excellent condition, fabulous enamels, age is over 100 years.                              .                                                                    )
