In the Staffordshire potteries of 1890 The Foley china works of E Brain & co, and from 1905 Foley Art China The Peacock Pottery, specialised in bone china tea and breakfast wares of high quality and good design. ” Hardian ” was pattern number One, a green stylised torch on white background, a design by George Logan of the Rennie Mackintosh Glasgow school of designers. George Logan ( 1866-1939 ) a well known furniture designer is perhaps better known for his Glasgow Style ceramic designs, many of which featured the Glasgow rose and stylised tulips, produced by various English potteries. This fabulous set has the back stamp of Foley China EB&Co within Staffordshire three loop knot the company trade mark c.1903-05. Extremely Rare Hardian pattern demi-tasse cup and saucer Cup – 5.5 cm x 6 cm , Saucer – 12 cm Lovely undamaged condition, teeny amount of crazing on cup base.
