Game Birds Tea Trio

‘WETLEY CHINA’ is the trade name of Sampson Smith, manufacturer of fine china at Longton in Staffordshire. c.1846-1963. They produced beautiful hand decorated tea sets typical of the era, this set dates to 1925. The peony shape teacup, with batwing handle, is fully decorated with a solid green band, wild game birds and gilded bows and swags. Pattern #  9283. Each piece has a different design representing the beautiful golden pheasant. Teacup 9.5 cm diameter x 5 cm high Saucer 14 cm diameter Plate 18 cm diameter Lovely condition with a little wear to the gilding, cup has some glaze craze which stops it pinging nicely, priced accordingly.
