These deep red trailing blooms are thought to resemble platted ponytails. As they are so tough, they are a reminder of 19th century gardens when these flowers were used extensively. Height 200cm space 30-60cm. When to sow: Late spring Where to sow: Direct sow Depth to sow: 5mm Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible. Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid. Spacing: Between plants: 30-60cm; Height: 200cm Directions:  If growing for cut flowers make a shallow drill and place three or four seed 30cm apart, thin to one seedling after germination. For a long flowering garden subject sow a few seeds 60-80 cm apart. After germination thin to one seedling.
